Pormenor Trilho Branco 2022

Pormenor Trilho Branco 2020 (Douro, Portugal) reflects a new wave of Douro winemaking focused on freshness, balance, and site expression rather than power. Sourced from old, high-altitude vines on granitic soils, it is a field blend of native grapes including Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, and Arinto. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on lees in neutral barrels, it gains texture and depth while keeping its mineral-driven core.
The wine opens with golden apple, Meyer lemon, and orange blossom, layered with crushed rock, dried thyme, and almond skin. The palate is taut yet generous, its gentle roundness from lees aging lifted by vibrant acidity. Compared to more opulent Douro whites, Trilho Branco emphasizes purity, precision, and finesse.
It pairs naturally with seafood rice, roast chicken with herbs, or aged goat cheese. Drinking well now, it has the structure and acidity to evolve gracefully over the next 5–7 years. A thoughtful, terroir-driven white that captures the detail and authenticity at the heart of Pedro Coelho’s Pormenor project.
