Quinta de San Michel Malvarinto de Janas 2022
A field blend of Malvasia de Colares and Arinto from clay-limestone soils under a temperate Mediterranean, maritime-influenced climate. Hand-harvested into 20 kg buckets, destemmed, crushed, and direct pressed. The must settled for 36 hours. Fermentation split between French oak barrels and stainless steel. The wine aged 8 months in French oak (20% new) on lees, then 22 months in bottle before release.
Tasting profile.?Yellow in color. The nose is assertive, led by citruslemon, orange peel, grapefruitlayered with herbal notes, white pepper and cinnamon, and a finish of smoke and sea spray. The palate is voluptuous yet bright, driven by acidity and texture, with flavors of green apple, lemon, and grapefruit. Long finish, vivid and persistent.
Pairing / Ideal with grilled sea bass or skate, and excellent with Serra da Estrela cheese or Iberian (black pork) ham.
